I especially didn’t appreciate the “Why don’t you go back to fetching someone’s coffee?” line from him, but he made up for it at the end by showing a few respect for Supergirl, as well as assuring Alex that while she may have initially gotten into the D.E.O. because of her sister, the reason she’s stayed around is because of her own skills and nothing else.

Supergirl premiered with 12.96 million viewers and a 3.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic when the final ratings for Monday night came in. It turns out that when Kara’s rocket flew towards Earth, it also brought along a Kryptonian maximum security prison full of criminals who are now looking to seek vengeance on Supergirl, as her mom was the one who imprisoned them. “Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist dropped by “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” to discuss the new show.

The Atlantic also says that Melissa Benoist was also flawless for the role of Kara. Kara doesn’t age during her flight, but Superman is now all grown up. This is the core of CBS’s “Supergirl”, which offers a fun and appealing, if sometimes too obvious, story of a young woman learning to trust herself and use her powers in a risky world. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award victor Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director.

As opposed to Berlanti’s other work, Supergirl will mainly focus on alien threats rather than constantly connecting people to a scientific event (The Flash) to make them metahuman or a supernatural assassins league (Arrow) to make them tough.
