With Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin! While viewers have always been aware of Superman’s presence on the show, we’ve never actually seen his face.

As previously reported, Superman is now scheduled to make a 2 episode arc appearance in the first two episodes of season 2. Now, weeks after it was announced that Superman would be visiting his cousin Kara Zor El (Melissa Benoist) in National City, the series has announced the actor playing the Man of Steel.
“Greg [Berlanti, the show’s producer] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman”, said Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg in a statement.
It turns out that they snatched up MTV’s Teen Wolf, Derek Hale actor, Tyler Hoechiln (left), to come on and do it.
Hoechlin now joins the long list of actors who’ve suited up as Superman.
Supergirl will return on Mondays this fall at 8 pm/ET on The CW.
The announcement of Hoechlin as the Man of Steel comes after a long search and intense fan speculation-with some lobbying for former Smallville star Tom Welling to reprise his role as the famous superhero.

While comic book television isn’t my particular cup of tea, I thought Hoechlin did a great job in Linklater’s latest as a baseball player with a major chip on his shoulder.
