Benoist says putting on the “Supergirl” boots and cape for the first time was exciting.
On Monday night’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the amusing talk show host expressed his excitement about Supergirl and proclaimed that he was happy to see a young, female superhero on TV. Benoist isn’t just playing the character of Supergirl; she IS Supergirl, and we can look forward to seeing more of this promising series that is already showing that it will have great adventures while also giving us a strong superhero to follow. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago. It was cool seeing Helen Slater (formerly Supergirl star) and Dean Cain (former Clark Kent star) as Kara’s adopted parents; it’s just a shame they didn’t get more screen time.
On Tuesday, Benoist stopped by CBS This Morning, and one of the hosts asked her about Bush’s comments. Usually the show will be parked at the top of the hour, but a few programmer who wanted the show to do well devised a way to have The Big Bang Theory, television’s highest rated program, lead into the premiere. “If someone like Carrie Fisher had shown up at my house when I was a kid, or any of the ‘Indiana Jones” girls… In the upcoming episode, Kara’s boss Cat Grant will pressure James to use his connection with Superman to get her an interview with Supergirl.

The series is owned in Australia by Foxtel, which acquired it as part of an expanding suite of programs produced by the studio Warner Bros and based on characters from DC Comics. But beyond that, she’s her mother’s twin sister. “And especially in an actor like Melissa because she exudes so much love and light and warmth as this character that it’s really wonderful to put it in a universe everyone can enjoy”, Adler said.
As THR points out, it’s likely that “Supergirl’s” numbers will grow even more when the numbers for those watching on DVR and streaming services are taken into account.
