Superheroes are the first big winners at Teen Choice Awards
After an introduction from National Basketball Association legend Kobe Bryant, Justin took the stage to accept his 23rd Teen Choice Award, and gave a ridiculously inspiring acceptance speech filled with wisdom that applies just as much to adults as it does to those who are still in high school.

Presented with the first-ever Decade Award by National Basketball Association great Kobe Bryant, Justin Timberlake delivered a powerful speech discussing the choices young people must make, and the importance of following the examples of those who went before, such as the late Muhammad Ali. Joining a tearful Alba, the two asked the audience to take a picture of the courageous teens onstage and post with the hashtag #StopTheViolence, which started trending on Twitter soon after.
The award was presented to the singer by basketball star Kobe Bryant in the ceremony at The Forum in Los Angeles, which honours achievements across all areas of entertainment. “Now more than ever we need to stop, feel and ask what’s going on“.
John Cena and Victoria Justice gave off a big brother/little sister vibe as they hosted Teen Choice 2016. “You will fall down”, Timberlake said.
The duo were great in their roles as hosts, and got into some insane shenanigans throughout the night but the height of it was when Cena and Justice entered the stage as presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump respectively.
In fact, Grimmie and her win weren’t even mentioned during the telecast, which omitted some categories due to time constraints. The bit wasn’t just for laughs.
Winners on the night who were in attendance included Captain America: Civil War star Chris Evans, Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress Daisy Ridley, Miracles from Heaven star Jennifer Garner, and the casts of Pretty Little Liars and Fuller House.
