Supreme court verdict: I have no regrets – Faleke
Faleke, who stated in a statement by his spokesman, Duro Meseko, said that he had no regrets challenging the decision of the Independent National Election Commission, which declared the November 21, 2015 governorship election in the state as inconclusive.

There is anxiety in Kogi State ahead of tomorrow’s judgment of the Supreme Court on two separate appeals on the governorship election.
Faleke argued that as the running mate to Audu, he ought to have been declared victor.
On the other hand, Wada, seeking for a second term under the platform of the PDP, said that he should be declared victor because, among other issues, Bello went for the supplementary election without a deputy as stipulated by law.
Ibrahim Wada, PDP candidate; Prince Audu’s vice, Faleke of APC; The Labour Party and ADC are now waging their cases at the Supreme Court in Abuja as Kogi awaits judgement of justice.
The CP further stressed that intelligent report reaching the command revealed that some miscreants were planning to create crisis before, during and after the Supreme Court judgement.
“There’s no appeal to the findings”.
Wole Olanipekun, counsel to Faleke, maintained that Bello did not participate in the election and was not the right candidate for the governorship position.
The Court of Appeal had earlier upheld the decision of the governorship election petitions tribunal, which dismissed all six petitions challenging the election of Governor Bello.
“APC can not connive with INEC to impose a candidate on a people. They made a choice but the choice died”, he said.
“It also held that “… this right of the Political party to nominate and sponsor a candidate of its choice as the action is not subject to challenge except where not exercised judiciously which can include wrongful substitution of change of candidate… A candidate is important in an election.
Also dismissed was the application by Wada for the court to order a fresh election.

The court also said it would provide reasons for its decision on September 30.
