Surprise Kanye West show canceled after scene turns to chaos

An impromptu Kanye West gig in NY – arranged following the cancellation of the Governors Ball’s third and final day – was itself cancelled following the influx of fans in their thousands. Kim Kardashian shared a video on her snap of Ye’ chattin’ with NY mayor Bill de Blasio, requesting to shut down multiple blocks around the venue.

However, Mayor de Blasio did not heed Kanye West’s pleas.

West’s appearance at the Governors Ball festival, which takes place on Randall’s Island in the city’s East River, would have been one of his first shows since he released his latest album “The Life of Pablo” in February. However, people ended up occupying two streets in the area.

A representative from Webster Hall announced that the last-minute concert was canceled.

West eventually decided on New York City’s Webster Hall.

Police then moved in to disperse the crowd, according to officials. The event, put on annually by NY radio station Hot 97, was set to feature performances from Pusha T and Big Sean with the help of Kanye’s G.O.O.D.

Police cited one person for disorderly conduct.

Kanye West’s surprise NYC concert led to riots in the streets after thousands of fans came out to see Kanye perform.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Webster Hall tweeted that there would be no show.

But somehow, through word of mouth, it was rumored that he would be performing a pop up concert at Webster Hall – a venue that holds 1,500 people at capacity.

It wasn’t until 2.45am that West finally made a decision to show up, cruising down 3rd Avenue and hanging out the sunroof of a chaffeur-driven vehicle as dozens of fans ran madly alongside him.

In the end, a rumored 4,000-plus people showed up near Webster Hall.
