How good was The Good Place?

After you’ve finished watching The Voice on NBC, don’t go anywhere.
The NBC comedy stars Kristen Bell as Eleanor Shellstrop, a bad woman who is confused for someone with the same name and mistakenly sent to the “good place” after she dies. She enters “the good place”, where her ever-chipper mentor Michael (Ted Danson) resides, but it’s all one big misunderstanding: Eleanor’s kind of a dick, and she was mistaken for another Eleanor who saved innocent people from death row. William Jackson Harper plays Chidi, the man assigned to be Eleanor’s soul mate. Eleanor is simultaneously delighted and terrified of her new super positive digs and decides to try be the person everyone thinks she is. Michael is one of the architects responsible for developing the topography of their eternal resting place, and his neighborhood is a quaint, Disneyfied small town full of communal green space, twee striped awnings, Silicon Valley-style tech innovations, shops with names like the Small Adorable Pet Depot, and a glut of frozen-yogurt shops. Also: Kind soul mate Chidi helps Eleanor navigate her new surroundings; and Eleanor meets her ideal new neighbors.
NOTE: The next episode, “Tahani Al-Jamil”, will air on Thursday, September 22 following Superstore.
