Surprise, The Woods Is Actually A Blair Witch Sequel

The Blair Witch Project, which was initially named as “the woods, ” is going to release in September. All of the marketing regarding the said movie did not point to the Blair Witch franchise, making it a total secret since the day it was planned until it was shown in San Diego Comic-Con. Will the sequel be able to inflict nightmares to its audience like the original did back in 1999? It was a certified blockbuster, earning $248 million at the box office on a $60,000 budget.

Blair Witch, slated for release this September, follows college student James, who ventures into the woods in search of the long lost film students from the original film. It has music (as did Book of Shadows, scored by the well-loved Carter Burwell), and apparently special effects, and lighting, and cinematography that reflects the completely unintentional camera work shot by the actors in the first Blair Witch movie. I was even briefly involved with the first sequel due to having a friendly professional connection to its director, Joe Berlinger.

From the looks of the worldwide trailer, this sequel won’t stray far from the original found-footage fright-fest fare. “Blair Witch” picks up from the events of the original.

The story of The Blair Witch will start where the Heather Donahue found out that what happened to his sister. You call the name The Woods and keep everyone in the dark. But as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence.

Filming of the “Blair Witch” was kept a secret with only a select few being made aware that it was a sequel. A trailer that was released used the pseudonym. But Lionsgate has released a movie trailer that nobody really expected, therefore giving Blair Witch much more attention.
