That could be good news for the local job market, which saw the jobless rate fall to 5.8 per cent in January.
“Nearly half of the employers surveyed expect to add to their payrolls during the April-June time frame, and opportunities for job seekers are expected to be bright in most Indian industry sectors and regions”. That is up from the 11-percentage-point difference – which Manpower calls the Net Employment Outlook – during the first quarter but down from the 17-percentage-point outlook in the second quarter of 2015.
Regionally, U.S. employers in the Midwest, Northeast and South expect hiring to remain relatively stable quarter over quarter, while employers in the West anticipate a slight decrease in hiring.
Taiwan’s net employment outlook for the second quarter is 20 percent after seasonal adjustments, down 7 percentage points from the current quarter and 25 points lower than in the second quarter past year, the survey showed.

From a national perspective, the survey of over 19-hundred employers across Canada reveals that 15 per cent plan to increase their staffing levels in the second quarter. “Seventy-two percent of employers anticipate making no change to staff levels, and the remaining 2 percent of employers are undecided about their hiring plans”.

On a regional basis, employers in Connaught reported the strongest hiring intentions while employers in Dublin maintained an unchanged positive outlook.
