Secretary East in Ministry of External Affairs Anil Wadhwa, when asked about Ms. Swaraj’s meeting with the Egyptian President said a bilateral framework of cooperation in all fields, particularly in the fields of security, counterterrorism, defence and trade and investments are being put in place to step up engagement in these areas.
She appealed to diaspora community to be part of the India growth story.
Swaraj invited the diaspora to invest in the country as she listed steps taken by the government to boost trade and make India a global manufacturing hub.
Swaraj said the mood surrounding India, as well as perceptions of it, had changed after the Modi administration had shown a “will and determination” in the last 15 months to bring about rapid economic development.
Pakistan on Saturday said it has come to the conclusion that the proposed National Security Advisor (NSA) level talks between Islamabad and New Delhi would not serve any objective if conducted on the basis of the two conditions laid down by India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Ms Swaraj was received by Indian ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya at the airport.
Swaraj said the Gulf and the North Africa were crucial for India’s energy security and complimented the diaspora community for their contribution in ensuring stronger ties between countries in the region and India.
In Berlin, she will meet German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier and other political leaders, the sources said.

Swaraj, in her first visit to the country as External Affairs Minister, is also scheduled to deliver a public address at the prestigious Diplomatic Club in Cairo to be hosted by the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs. She will also be travelling to Germany.
