Sushma swaraj to visit pakistan next week

In response to the Indian Ambassador in Kabul Amar Sinha’s “reaction” over statements issued by Pakistan after meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Paris, Pakistan Foreign Ministry spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah on Thursday said it is against the diplomatic norms for an ambassador to try to undermine relations of his host country with a third country.

“The government would be guided by the sentiments of the House, ” she said. “We will continue to encourage all sides to come to a solution sooner rather than later”, Swaraj, who met Thapa on Wednesday, told MPs. “India has always stood for a peaceful and prosperous Nepal, which is also in its interest”.

“There is no blockade by India, which we have repeatedly clarified, of supplies going to Nepal”.

Swaraj also urged the house to consider the merits of a visit to Nepal by an all-party delegation. However, it will not be so easy for Modi, considered as a powerful PM as the ruling coalition enjoys absolute majority in the Indian Parliament, to explain the reason for holding talks with the Pak PM behind the veil of posturing.

An unfortunate example of this was that an Indian national was killed when Nepal tried to forcibly remove Nepalese protestors squatting on the roads preventing the movement of commercial vehicles carrying goods and fuel from India last month, she said.

The HURPES has launched various programmes to protest against the Nepal-India border blockade ahead of the International Human Rights Day on December 10.

Indian chief minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalithaa (C) arrives at a hotel in Bangalore to take part in talks with chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

PM Oli said the entire population of the country confronts critical humanitarian challenges due to the blockade at border checkpoints. Nepal has accused India of imposing an illegal “economic blockade”, which India has denied and asked the landlocked country to ensure a broad acceptance of the Constitution by all sections of the society.

“The brief unscheduled meeting between the two Prime Ministers in Paris was air by the media as it was taking place”.

According to Sushma Swaraj, the use of force on November 2 to forcibly remove protestors obstructing the Raxaul-Birganj route, and thereafter on November 22 against protestors in Saptari, further vitiated the atmosphere.

Swaraj added the government has facilitated essential supplies wherever possible.
