“I applaud the courage and strength of the survivor in this incident”, Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans said in a statement.

“He was a unsafe individual who committed an atrocious act”, Evans said.
“Between the Global Positioning System bracelet that was in the area at the time as well as the courageous victim coming forward and identifying him after the crime, that’s why we were able to get him”, he said.
He was allegedly wearing his Global Positioning System monitor during Monday’s attack, and he then cut it off. They searched 15 houses before they finally found him.
Then, as now, Rodriguez faced charges of sexual assault, also in the South End.
After he sexually assaulted the woman, prosecutors say Rodriguez cut off his Global Positioning System bracelet, which he was supposed to be wearing for his 2008 conviction.

Prosecutors said Rodriguez was captured on a surveillance camera with his accuser and on the bicycle he was riding when he approached her.
Eduardo Rodriguez, 31, told a woman on Claremont Street that he had a knife, and he forced her to walk to the Carter Playground, where she was sexually assaulted early Monday, police said.
