Suspect charged with stealing jewellery from Drake’s tour bus

ASU Police say King was buzzed into the building by a person working the front desk around 2 a.m. Students are given special badges to enter, but the doors can be opened from someone at the front desk.

Travion Lamar King was released on his own recognizance Wednesday on one count each of burglary and theft.

King then allegedly took the briefcase containing the jewellery and left.

Police say they found him with the briefcase, which contained all of the jewellery.

When you’re Drake and his DJ, Future the Prince (not Future the rapper), you probably carry a little more cash on you than the average person.

The culprit has since been arrested, and has been identified as a homeless man named Travion King, who was apprehended at Arizona State University hours later.

In charging documents, King’s home is stated as a shelter in Phoenix.

Sergeant Vince Lewis said: “We’re talking about somebody who knew the layout or was able to gain access or to get back there unnoticed”.

It was not immediately clear Thursday if King had an attorney.

A representative for Drake declined to comment on the case on Wednesday.

Drake and Future were appearing in the city’s downtown as part of the “Summer Sixteen Tour”, which began in July, according to the event website.

The tour, which began in mid-July, includes stops all over the USA and in Drake’s home country of Canada.
