An alleged vehicle thief drove a auto straight into the ocean, in a failed bid to evade cops chasing him for two hours along the sand dunes in Australia.

The SUV was rapidly overcome with water and the man climbed onto the roof of the floating vehicle.
Two officers then enter the ocean, swimming through the heavy swell, to arrest the man. Anyone violating these terms, including the use of vulgar language or racial slurs, will be banned.
As police approached the 4WD vehicle on a beach in Perth, aerial footage shows the driver getting back into the auto and heading directly into the water.

When a wave broke, he lost his grip on the vehicle and floated closer to shore, where the officers were finally able to grab him. “We wanted to get him to safety but also apprehend him because he was allegedly in possession of a stolen auto”.
