Suspect in Las Vegas crash tested positive for marijuana, DA says
“There is no reasonable explanation or excuse for the actions of this defendant”, said Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson in the news release.

Meanwhile, DiGiacomo said, according to AP, “The amount of marijuana and marijuana metabolite does not appear to be enough to affect her mental state at the time of the crime”, adding: “She intentionally drove into the crowd”.
Holloway’s test showed the active marijuana in her blood was 3.5 ng/mL and the metabolite was 23.6 ng/mL.
The woman charged with purposely mowing down people on the Las Vegas strip… has tested positive for drugs.
Holloway told police that she was exhausted because she had been living in her vehicle prior to the incident and was not able to rest properly. Child welfare officials have custody of the girl, who wasn’t injured.
Blood samples were taken from Holloway, and police initially said that though she did not demonstrate signs of being under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested, she may have been on stimulants.
Last week, Wolfson said the evidence against Holloway was “compelling”, following the suspect’s first court hearing since the deadly incident.
Wolfson’s office also said that “additional charges will be considered, but no decisions as to what those will be have been made at this time”.
Witness reports said that Holloway’s vehicle, which is registered to another person in Portland, Ore., drove onto the sidewalk multiple times and had all four wheels on the sidewalk.
Holloway, 24, will remain in jail pending arraignment for at least 30 days, on what one of her attorneys characterized as suicide watch.
