Police said Perez was arrested about 10 a.m. Friday; he is linked to the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Mohammed Robinson on August 27 in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North.
North Las Vegas police spokesman Aaron Patty said that a detective left the room and Perez was able to turn the handcuffs “until he broke free and escaped the building”. Authorities said Saturday, Sept. 4 that the Ford F-150 pickup truck had been found but Alonso Perez remains on the loose.
Cops say Perez is Hispanic, about 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. He also has an “Air Jordan” tattoo on his neck.
He had been accused in the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man who, according to witnesses, was attacked because he did not open the door for a woman at a McDonald’s.
He’d been arrested for questioning in the August 27 slaying of a 31-year-old man outside a McDonald’s restaurant.
A police spokesperson said: “I can understand their frustration – we’re just as frustrated ourselves”.
Anyone with information about Perez should call the North Las Vegas police at 702-633-9111. “You could’ve walked away from the argument, you didn’t need to start the argument, you didn’t need to take it any further”.
According to a fundraising page set up by Robinson’s family, the man was a “loving, caring, hardworking” father of four and stepdad to two “who did anything and everything he could to support his family”.

“I don’t understand it at all”, said Maggie Robinson, the murder victim’s sister.
