A man was arrested in NY and faces theft and weapons charges for allegedly taking 16 weapons from a US Army Reserve Center in Worcester, according to an Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal complaint.

Sixteen weapons, including 10 9 mm pistols and six 5.56 mm M4 rifles, were stolen Saturday in the late-night break-in at the Lincoln W. Stoddard United States Army Reserve Center.

Investigators later discovered the thief broke a kitchen window to get into the drill room and then climbed on top of the vault before cutting a hole through its ceiling, which is made of several layers of metal and wood.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation affidavit says Morales was tied to the theft through DNA evidence and through an electronic monitoring bracelet that he is wearing because he is out on bail on a child rape charge.
According to the paperwork, Morales was on an electronic monitoring device in connection with a pending case out of Middlesex Superior Court, but on November 16 he most likely cut off the monitoring device.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said the theft is not related to terrorism.
