Suspect injured in New Haven officer-involved shooting
Officials say an officer shot Ursini in his lower abdomen in self-defense. It’s not clear how many times the man was shot.

Orsini-Rodriguez charged at a New Haven police officer with a knife, prompting the officer to fire several shots from his service weapon, state police said.
He identified the victim as 38-year-old Roberto Ursini.

The shooting happened inside 480 Ferry St. about 10:30 a.m., where police were responding to a report of a mentally-disturbed man who was threatening to commit suicide, Grotheer said. He was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where his exact condition is unknown, but officials say he was conscious and alert when he was transported.
Multiple sources inside the New Haven Police Department tell News 8 the officer’s name is Brian Jackson.

The police officer was not immediately identified. The officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
