Suspect who may be involved in Calgary girl’s disappearance taken into custody
Police say the pair was observed getting out of a vehicle belonging to the girl’s mother, Sara Baillie, and into a dark grey sedan in the area of Pantego Close N.W. not far from Baillie’s home on Panamount Boulevard N.W. where she was found slain.

On Wednesday, police questioned 46-year-old Edward Downey in connection with Taliyah’s disappearance.
Calgary police have a man in custody but there’s no sign of the little girl at the centre of an Amber Alert. Baillie appears to be speaking with a man and a boy.
Searchers combing through a rural property near Chestermere, Alta., found the body near a road beside a field. The girl was wearing red or pink boots with white polka dots and was carrying a reddish-coloured suitcase. Coleman said Thursday he was giving police “zero co-operation”, though he later described Downey’s co-operation as “limited”.
Earlier Thursday, police said the suspect was not cooperating with the investigation.
“And then somehow, in the real show, she was a little nervous and Taliyah ended up crying and not having a great time really on stage”, Ms. Godin said.
Kruger said she visited with Baillie and Taliyah last weekend.
Witnesses believe that they saw Taliyah with a “stocky, black” man around 11:30 a.m. on Monday near her home.
Taliyah’s father is begging anyone who might have information to “do the right thing”. They need to investigate more to find out the reason behind such a murder.
“There’s. lots of work to still do”, a sombre Insp.
Inspector Don Coleman said police were led to the location through the use of traditional police techniques. “We were hoping for a different outcome”.
“We were hoping for another outcome, and worked hard for another outcome”, Coleman said. The cause of death was not known. “We were contacted at about 8:30 when Sara was reported as overdue, and we believe that this incident had concluded sometime that afternoon”, Coleman said.
Reporter Cam Donovan from CKNW sister station NewsTalk 770 says there are questions remaining over whether Taliyah’s family, including her father Colin Marsman, knew her alleged killer.

The case has also attracted help from across the community and throughout Canada, with many volunteering to search for the girl and some even tying green ribbons on trees and lampposts in honor of Taliyah.
