But when he surrendered, he reportedly talked about “no more body parts”, a possible reference to undercover videos of Planned Parenthood officials allegedly offering to sell the remains of aborted fetuses.

The shooting has led to a debate over whether the anti-abortion movement’s rhetoric might have played a role in inspiring the attack.

The new Planned Parenthood facility offers a range of reproductive healthcare, including birth control and abortion services, testing for sexually transmitted disease as well as gynaecological and breast exams.

This story has been corrected to change spelling of ex-wife’s last name to Micheau and to say that there was no Planned Parenthood clinic in Charleston when the couple was married more than 20 years ago. The true instigator of this violence and all violence at any pph (Planned Parenthood) facility, is pph themselves.

“It’s been a veritable feeding frenzy in who could be more over the top in their anti-Planned Parenthood rhetoric”, said Amy Runyon-Harms, executive director of Progress Now Colorado. “Abortionists and Planned Parenthood shooter are two sides of the same coin”, read the headline.

One person who spoke with him extensively about his religious views said Mr. Dear, who is 57, had praised people who attacked abortion providers, saying they were doing “God’s work”.

Liberal groups ProgressNow Colorado and NARAL stood on the steps of the State Capitol reading the names of Republicans they say incited the murders.

Supporters have said the videos in question were produced to distort the issue of fetal-tissue donations made by the group for scientific research, and the legitimate reimbursements Planned Parenthood receives to cover the costs of those donations. It is beneath the dignity of our state and country, and a grave disservice to the victims. “And we should focus on achieving justice – this shooting was a premediated [sic] atrocity, and absolutely ripe for a death penalty prosecution”.

But she said all 19 of its other health centers are open and treating patients.

She said Dear had difficulty keeping a job. The officials said Dear’s “rantings” also included comments about politics and President Barack Obama.

CNS articles portray Dear as “an apparently unstable man“, highlighted Dear’s “several run-ins with police” touted a Republican congressman’s suggestion that Dear has “mental problems” and promoted GOP presidential candidates calling Dear a “madman” and “very unstable”, not to mention “deranged“.

The Colorado district attorney said he has been in touch with U.S. Attorney John Walsh’s office about the case. “We need to connect that message to the elected officials who are right here in this building”. The woman in the case said in a police report that Dear had asked her out numerous times, even though she refused, and eventually he came to her apartment and sexually assaulted her, the Times reported.
