Between 10 and 30 minutes passed from when Farook left the party and the shooting began, according to Burguan.

Here is what we know about the attackers: Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik.

Stephens said she happened to call Thalasinos while he was at work and having a discussion with Farook. A motive remains unclear, and it is possible the shooting site – a center for people with disabilities – was not their sole target. “I drove up and I looked out my window, and there was a policeman on the ground behind a tree, lying on the ground with his gun pointed this direction, up toward the direction actually of where they are now”, he described. The couple were gunned down about hours later and a few miles away in a furious shoot-out with police. They were driving a black Ford Expedition rented three or four days prior to the shooting.

Authorities returned to the townhome Wednesday night and neighbors in the complex were told to shelter in place.

Farook, a USA citizen, was born in IL, the son of Pakistani immigrants, according to Hussam Ayloush, who heads the Los Angeles area chapter of the Muslim advocacy group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Baccari told the AP that Farook traveled to Saudi Arabia in the spring and returned a month later with a wife.

The couple had a 6-month-old baby girl – who they left with Farook’s mother the morning before the attack – and appeared to be “living the American dream”, one of Farook’s coworkers, Patrick Baccari, told the Los Angeles Times.

Khan says he last spoke to Farook, who has at least one young child, about a week ago and he had “absolutely no idea why he would reportedly commit such a crime”. Vikki Vargas reports for the NBC4 News at 11 on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.

A third suspect was detained, but police have since said they believe Farook and Malik were the only shooters. The official said that Farook’s contacts online did not involve “significant players on our radar” and dated back some time, and there was no immediate indication of any “surge” in communication ahead of the shooting.

He worked for the past five years as a restaurant inspector for the San Bernardino County Health Department.

“Nobody just gets upset at a party, goes home and puts together that kind of elaborate scheme or plan to do this”, Burguan said. They were also carrying an additional 1,400.223 rounds of ammunition and 200 9mm rounds, which were found on the suspects’ bodies after they were killed.

According to the local police scanner, shots have been fired and law enforcement vehicles are rushing to the scene.

There are no indications his job was in jeopardy, police said. They died in the shootout, which involved 21 officers.

In the video you can hear a San Bernardino officer say, “I’ll Take a Bullet Before You Do…”

Several of those wounded remain in a critical condition. He was arrested on an unrelated, outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Authorities are investigating how the San Bernardino attackers learned to construct their devices, and are looking for any possible accomplices who might have helped them obtain the large supply of ammunition, bombmaking materials and any weapons that may not have been directly purchased by the suspects.
