Suspended Draymond Green can’t attend game but could join celebration, report says

Following a pivotal win in Game 4 of the 2016 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors were all but assured championship glory. “I’m going to battle with whoever it is”. LeBron James and Kyrie Irving are going to need the assistance by every other member on the team.

Green and James tangled late in Friday’s Game 4, with James knocking down Green and then stepping over him. “But I’ve taken the high road again”. Green’s suspension was announced by the National Basketball Association on Sunday after reviewing the play involving Green and LeBron James. “I don’t know how [James] feels”. You’ve got to be able to take it. Now the league will be bracing for a raucous crowd and fired-up home team when James and the Cavaliers step on the court at the Oracle in Oakland. “You got to act like you didn’t try to do it; I will admit that”. It’s all in competition.

Green received a flagrant-1 foul by the officials after reviewing the incident and due to exceeding the number of allowed flagrant fouls in this Playoffs, has been issued with a suspension for Game 5 of the Finals. “We’re going to play a lot of people, give a lot of different looks, compete like insane and I think we’ll give ourselves a great chance to win”.

The NBA said Green “made unnecessary contact with a retaliatory swipe of his hand to the groin” of James. One of the most controversial issues that arose lately was Draymond Green and his flagrant foul.

Looking back, I was in favor of the NBA’s decision to not suspend Draymond Green for his kick to the groin of Thunder C Steven Adams in the Western Conference Finals.

Green did not address the media, and coach Steve Kerr declined to comment, saying: “It’s irrelevant what any of us think”.

“I don’t think it crossed the line in that regard”. He was protecting himself. “The situation is what it is and we’ve got to win”.

It was that play that led to a technical foul.

“Something like that you’re unaware”. I called Warriors in six games, but up until this point the Warriors have simply looked like the better team. So it’s a big suspension on their end, but we’ve still got to play.

“We’re trying to win”.

But Warriors star Thompson came to his team-mate’s defence by reminding James this is a “man’s league” and he needs to just brush those kinds of things off. If they rule the call a Flagrant Foul 2, he’ll be suspended for Game 5 and 6.
