‘Suspension’ plan in MH370 search
“Ministers reiterated that the aspiration to locate MH370 has not been abandoned”, the meeting’s hosts, Liow Tiong Lai, Australia’s Darren Chester and China’s Yang Chuantang, said in the statement.

Grace, whose mother was on board flight MH370, also said suggestions by a Dutch company involved in the current underwater search that the focus may be in the wrong area should prompt officials to “reassess’ and “even re-start” the search”.
This decision has not been taken lightly nor without some sadness.
The current search was originally scheduled to end in July or August of this year, but could run for longer if weather conditions hamper the operation.
“We are confident we are searching in the right area”.
Authorities have confirmed they will not expand the current search area for MH370. “What kind of information will they need to continue the search?” But experts agree the passage of time and distance has made them unusable as clues to the location of the plane. “All I want is to have my family members back”. The document reveals that Malaysian authorities gave the Federal Bureau of Investigation hard drives that were used by Shah to record simulated flight sessions that he conducted on his personal flight simulator that he kept at his home.
Flight MH370, carrying 239 passengers and crew, disappeared from radar shortly after taking off from Kuala Lumpur en route to Beijing on March 8, 2014. All those on board are presumed dead.
“With less than 10,000 square kilometres of the high-priority search area remaining to be searched … the likelihood of finding the aircraft is fading”, their statement said.
Days after, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak announced that the flaperon was from MH370, and that the flight had ended in the Indian Ocean.
Nathan wondered if the families would have to finance measures on their own.
The governments did not say the search is over, but they acknowledged the hunt had stalled, and that unless new information arises before the end of the year, they will cease looking. Four other pieces that turned up on Africa’s eastern seaboard and in Mauritius nearly certainly belong to the doomed jet, according to investigators.

There have been several theories surrounding the disappearance and the final hours of the flight, including that the plane glided into the water and didn’t dive in, indicating a controlled ditching. Liow said at the press conference that it would come to conclusion sometime between October and December. “It is based on the drift patterns. The debris can not tell us where the plane is”.
