Among the communications police said they found between Hickey and executives of THG Sports, an global sports hospitality company, were emails with Marcus Evans, the British businessman whose namesake company controls THG.
OCI Secretary General Dermot Henihan has been cleared in the scheme, but authorities have seized the passports of team leader Kevin Kilty, and CEO Stephen Martin. At least three other OCI officials have had their passports seized amid the ongoing investigation.
Police are satisfied that the men had no part in the alleged illegal sales of tickets in Rio.
A leading lawyer in Brazil has said it could be end up being up to 6 months before Pat Hickey appears in court on charges connected to the Olympic tickets fiasco.
In the emails, the police said, Hickey and Evans discussed the fact that they are at the center of the investigation into the scheme, Reuters reports.
Tickets, including for the Rio opening ceremony with a face value of about US$1,400 (RM5,600) were offered for sale at US$8,000 (RM32,000).
“This deposition was very important”, he said, adding that further arrests were possible.
The pair were interviewed yesterday as part of a ticket-scalping probe that has already led to the arrest of Ireland’s highest Olympic official.
Fraud officers allege that Irish company PRO10 was created to act as a bridge between OCI and THG after this.
Police said the men helped put the jigsaw together due to their roles in the OCI, a body they held Pat Hickey to be in charge of and aware of ticket sales.
Other people Rio’s authorities intend to question are acting OCI president Willie O’Brien, OCI executive and chief executive of the FAI John Delaney as well as personal assistant to the OCI president Linda O’Reilly. THG claimed that the tickets were being held legally on behalf of PRO10.
The news comes as the OCI president Pat Hickey continues to await the assignment of his own case to a court.
The lawyer was present during Hickey’s deposition and said that he spoke despite not being required to by police because he wanted to clarify the situation.
It has been confirmed today that Hickey’s wife Sylviana is no longer in Rio. The video shot during his arrest shows that he was awakening at that very same time, wearing a robe.
The legal team has also made a fresh request for bail through papers lodged to a Rio court on Wednesday night.

The scandal has been mounting since the arrest of Mallon, an Irish director of THG.
