Suzuki Ignis Compact Crossover Revealed

The concept cars will include the IGNIS, which gives shape to Suzuki’s foray into the new compact-crossover genre; and the MIGHTY DECK, which offers new kinds of fun in the minicar segment. Suzuki claims that the Ignis’ high ground clearance should allow for “confident driving on snowy roads and rough tracks”.

The brand new Suzuki IGNIS-Trail Concept is bringing a whit finish for its body, along with the red accents which can be spotted on the front fascia, around the grille and headlights, around the fog lamps, on its side and on the wheels.

The Ignis’ engines have not been confirmed but if launched in Australia, it could come with the 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine that recently made its debut in the Suzuki Baleno.

According to the company officials, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, is expected to be catering to all those potential Maruti Suzuki customers who are looking for a vehicle which would offer a compact crossover space. It’s a modern tribute, with a versatile rear deck arrangement, featuring treated wood that extends to the interior.

In fact, the Mighty Deck is only 3,395mm long, 1,475mm wide and 1,540mm tall (11 x 4,8 x 5 ft), and powered by a 658 cc 3-cylinder turbo engine aided by an S-Energy Charge electric motor.

There’s also a modern tribute to the Type 1 Volkswagen Kombi; the Air Triser.

On the inside the Ignis features a two-tone dash with brightly coloured interior highlights, a large central touchscreen, and promises to deliver a lofty seating position.
