Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki became the 30th Major League Baseball player to record 3,000 career hits Sunday after he tripled to right field on the road against the Colorado Rockies.

The hit came in the top of the seventh inning against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
When Ichiro Suzuki first came to America, some doubted that the baseball player could hit the big leaguers’ pitches.
Suzuki began to forge a Hall of Fame career with the Seattle Mariners in 2001 after he signed out of Japan as a 27-year-old with his orthodox left-handed batting stance and sweet line-drive stroke that produced 1,278 hits in his native land. Only 29 other Major League Baseball players have reached the milestone, with the most recent to join the 3,000 hit club being Alex Rodriguez with a homer on June 19, 2015. “But after I heard that Paul Molitor was the other person to do it, I was glad it didn’t go over”.

Alex Rodriguez reached 3,000 hits back in 2015 while playing with the Yankees and now in 2016, Ichiro has joined the very elite crew.
But Ichiro got there despite coming to the U.S.at 27 years old – by which time most players are past their peak.
