Guidolin is expecting an improved performance from his players after they lost to Leicester City prior to the global break, but the likely availability of Borja is a boost.

“He is a young player, but I like him and I think he is nearly ready to play in the Premier League”, said Guidolin.

“I think we have a good team, and now it is important to see the future with optimism”, the Italian said.

“He is working, but he has to go slow (in training) for two or three days”, said Guidolin.

“He worked with us last week, but he needs some days of slow training. I know Spanish players like Michu have done well with Swansea, I hope I can do the same”.

“He is nearly ready to play”. “I think he is nearly ready to play in the Premier League”.

Swansea lost their last two games before the worldwide break, at home to Hull and at Leicester, after winning on the opening day of the season at Burnley. Swansea, who finished 12th in the Premier League last season, have three points from their first three games.

Francesco Guidolin has called on the Swansea fans to keep the faith as he is confident they will soon be climbing the table. “I think they can win, but I think the same about Manchester City, Manchester United and maybe some other teams”.

“The league is very strong and very hard”.

“My aim is to get started when I have the chance to play and score goals. This is important for a new manager and for the players”.
