Swansea sink new boys Burnley with late Fer strike
Sean Dyche was pleased with his players” performance against Swansea, but accepted Leroy Fer’s late victor was a “welcome back to the reality of the Premier League’.

Dean Marney headed just over for Sean Dyche’s men just after the restart and there was then a real scare for Swansea when Fabianski completely missed a David Jones corner but Michael Keane was unable to get a touch with the goal beckoning.
Swansea City boss Francesco Guidolin defended Mo Barrow after the Swede was accused of diving in victory at Burnley. “We’re trying to get it in, it’s tough”.
“I was a defender, I’m willing to play hard, to play fair”.
“It’s only because it is a fantastic league and a fantastic product, I’ve been in it before and I want it to be that. When people are going down with no contact then I don’t know how you accept that”.
“I thought we played well, we were solid, our performance, particularly second half, was very strong, and we had them on the back foot for long enough periods in the second half”.
“I think it was a really obvious one, particularly for the linesman”.
Swansea, meantime, have off-set the departures of Bafetimbi Gomis, Alberto Paloschi, Eder, Ashley Williams and Andre Ayew this summer by recruiting players of the calibre of Borja Baston, Fernando Llorente, Leroy Fer and Mike van der Hoorn from Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, QPR and Ajax respectively.
“I try to get my lads not to fall on the floor, which I think there were a number of them today that were interesting”, Dyche said.
Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton could only parry the Spanish striker’s header into the path of Leroy Fer who poked the ball home with 82 minutes gone.
“Swansea were just the better team”.
“We’ve done fantastically with numbers and the way we keep lads fit but you do need that depth”.

“But we play a good game and I am proud for my players and happy because this is a hard ground for all the teams in the Premier League”.
