Swimmer Penny Oleksiak will carry flag into Olympic closing ceremony

Canada’s performance at the 2016 Games in Rio has set a high bar for the 2020 Games in Tokyo, with our athletes claiming more medals than the Canadian Olympic Committee was expecting, and London athletes played a big part in that success.

In total, Canada won 22 medals and finished 10th place overall, including four gold, three silver and 15 bronze medals.

The swimming star, who is heading into Grade 11 this fall, said she’s eager to spend the next couple weeks with family, friends and a new pet.
