Swimming: Ledecky leads the way in 800m freestyle heats
Michael Phelps stars in the ad for Under Armour, part of the Rule Yourself campaign, that captures behind-the-scenes work and sacrifice that goes into shaping an Olympic great. The most versatile female swimmer in the Rio Olympics is expected to dominate anew in an event that also features Mady Dirado of United States of America and Hilary Caldwell of Canada.

Together they’ve been a powerhouse, winning multiple gold medals as relay teammates and now holding the Olympic record for the 4x200m freestyle relay.
The finals are Friday at 9:20 p.m. ET.
Hours later, Phelps blew away rival Ryan Lochte – and everyone else, for that matter – to win his fourth gold medal of the Rio Olympics and 22nd overall with a victory in the 200-meter individual medley.

And get this: Ledecky’s relay time was only one-hundredth of a second slower than her winning time in the 200 free the previous night.

The individual medley is a strength for both swimmers.
He qualified fourth in the men’s 100 butterfly, an event he’s won in each of the last three Olympic Games. She missed the 200 free final in her only other individual event in Rio.
Australia’s Mitch Larkin grabbed the silver in 1:53.96, just ahead of Russia’s Evgeny Rylov with the bronze in 1:53.97. Phelps won six gold medals and two bronze in Athens in 2004 and then a few months later was arrested for driving under the influence.
In the Rio Olympic Arena, Virginia Beach native Gabby Douglas – who became a household name after her accomplishments in the 2012 London Games – helped the powerhouse Final Five on their quest for another team gold Tuesday. It’s something that’s very special to win 22 Olympic gold medals. Thrasher will competed again Thursday morning, but did not qualify for the final in the women’s 50-meter three-positions rifle competition.

According to NBC Olympics, the two own 93 Olympic and world championship medals between them and they have combined for the last five world record progressions and all of the reported top 10 all-time performances.
