Swine Flu: Three more deaths, toll rises to 810
Seeking to allay public fears, the ministry said that the cases of Swine Flu (H1N1), which were diagnosed, do not imply a pandemic outbreak in Bahrain.

This was among a series of decisions taken during a meeting chaired by Union Health Minister J P Nadda and Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain to review the preparedness in the national capital to address and manage swine flu in winter months. Of the 19 patients, 17 are being treated at various hospitals of Pune.
Country, is again in grip of Swine Flu with three more succumbing to death one each from Pune, Latur and Kolhapur today. “Including Saturday’s three casualties, 810 people have died from the H1N1 virus in the state so far this year”. The climatic conditions have provided these viruses with the ideal conditions to grow and multiply. Lack of enough medicines, lack of hospital infrastructure including hospital beds and doctors to attend the patients, the government found it hard to control the disease.
In Maharashtra alone, about 2,634 people exhibiting influenza-like illness were screened for swine flu at various places on Saturday. Besides, several festivals fall in September and October, during which people mingle in large numbers.
Nearly 2634 people with flu like symptoms were held under the scanner for swine flu by the authorities yesterday and out of them about 240 swine flu suspected cases, were prescribed Tamiflu tablets.
Pune has always been the hotspot of swine flu infections and the government always has a tough time managing it and preventing its spread to other parts of the state. “We are in touch with the Centre and all hospitals have been directed to create facilities to ensure treatment to the needy”, said a senior official.
Health experts are advising people to wear N95 mask in places that are crowded as the H1N1 spreads through the air when a sick person sneezes or coughs. People who are already suffering from influenza symptoms need to be very careful when they head out from their home.

It was also decided that data on cases due to Influenza A H1N1 in both central and Delhi government hospitals would be shared along with the media plans of both governments.
