Swing state absentee ballots are on the rise
When casting an early ballot, voters do not need to go to their local precinct, but can vote at any polling location in their county.

The work for Minnesota’s Democratic party started months ago, as hundreds of staffers scattered across the state began contacting infrequent voters to convince them to register for an absentee ballot.
Early voting in Texas runs from October 24 to November 4.
If you prefer to vote in person but want to avoid longer lines, you can elect the option of early voting. Pennsylvania is one of the 33 states that offer online voter registration, according to the New York University of Law. If you need to request a ballot by mail, it’s advised applying as early as possible to account for any potential delays in mail delivery. And whether you’re planning to vote for Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Hillary Clinton, you have to be registered before you can cast a ballot.
But there is a great deal of interest in making sure overseas US military members and their families get their ballots.

According to Spencer, a person must be at least 18 years old, a USA citizen and not be mentally incompetent or have certain criminal convictions to qualify as a registered voter. It was 10 percent in 2014.
“It can be hard for service members and citizens overseas to exercise their right to vote because of the need to constantly move and the uncertainty of the absentee voting process”. “If your name changed or your address has changed since you last voted or your registration status is listed as inactive (from not voting in recent elections), now is the time to update your registration”.
They say, as of now, they have 1,200 ballots to send and counting.
Once returned, these votes – if received in Texas by November 14 – will be counted and added to the tally before the state’s overall vote is certified.
“It’s the most comprehensive ground game that any political operation’s ever put out”, he said.
Absentee voters who decide not to vote in the office, should either download an absentee ballot request form at the Iowa Secretary of State website at www.sos.iow.gov or pick one up at the county auditors office.
It is still September, but for some voters in Virginia it is already Election Day. Some Minnesotans may also be voting for their local County Commissioner, Soil and Water Supervisor, City Officers, School Board Members, Township Officers, or local ballot questions.
In the letter they cite a 1958 opinion from a former Arizona attorney general that said a voter registration deadline that fell on July 4 should move to the following business day. After completing the form and signing it, you can fold it in three (with the address on the outside) and drop it in the mail.
In most cases, you must register at least 15 days before Election Day to be eligible to vote.

More than14.8 million Texans are registered to vote this year, topping 14.2 million registered in March and 13.6 million registered in November 2012. Ballots will be posted outside every precinct during election night.
