For undefeated (and underdog) Clemson to win the national championship game Monday night in Glendale, Ariz., Watson is nearly assuredly going to have to turn into the 2005 version of Texas quarterback Vince Young, who lifted the Longhorns onto his shoulders in an epic title-winning victory over USC. He said he was 60 percent at Saturday’s Media Day.

And if the Lawson who enters the National Football League is the same Lawson Swinney knows, the team that selects him won’t have to worry about an attitude of entitlement – first-round pick or otherwise.
But Mac Lain begged to differ.
I picked against both teams in the semifinals so naturally, here are the unbeaten Tigers and the Crimson Tide (again). It’s a special memory when I look back on it. But this year… “That’s what I think Ole Miss (which beat Alabama this season and last) did”. Florida State was 14-0 in its national championship year two years ago.
The Alabama football team put together a final full practice on Saturday, working roughly two hours in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) on the Arizona State campus. The Tigers did that throughout 2015 and Alexander has yet to let them down.
Swinney turned serious when asked about keeping it light with his players. I’m obviously biased toward Alabama, well, their departing defensive coordinator Kirby Smart, who heads to my alma mater after this game. “And I think coaches who don’t focus on that are missing out”. “But unless we win this one, then that doesn’t mean as much”. “I’m like a robot because I apply myself that way”. “They’ll remember some wins and losses, but I really want them to have had a great experience and to have enjoyed the people they were around”.
Swinney has a shot at bringing Clemson its second title.
However, there is one aspect to this game that many of them agree on. “That question right there is what’s wrong with society”. “Or they’re saying, ‘Hey, I’m pulling for you“. Like we’re supposed to be miserable going through this. That’s a big deal. “The thing that’s fun, what makes it fun is you win”. “Facing the adversity that I did in my life, it just gave me the confidence that I could believe in my skill set, trust in my skills and have the ability to adapt to any situation”.
“Disappointment would be the correct word”, then-Clemson athletic director Terry Don Phillips said.
“He’s such a players’ coach”, Mac Lain said.
“They’re very good in the front seven, but we’re very good with our seven, too – our five linemen and (Wayne) Gallman and myself”. But he’s going to take care of us regardless of the situation.
“Here we’re in the middle of a dynasty because of the process with different players and different coaches”.
“It hurts right now”, he said.
“It was insane how he did that with a torn ACL”, Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson said. A lot of players have said that about their coaches.
Leggett, at 6-foot-5, 255-pounds, is a matchup problem and Clemson likes to send him down the middle on run-pass option plays.
“We’ll still be doubted, so I’m not really anxious about it”, Boulware concluded. “Coach Swinney is just a loving man. He’s a amusing guy. All of those guys got to feel like you’re their head coach”. Swinney cried that day. “He just wants the best for you“. The Tigers’ one and only national title came in the 1981 season.
Swinney said it helps the Tigers take “another step up the mountain”.
We’re not a flash in the pan. “Teams with a lot of talent sometimes aren’t the best teams because they don’t have the kind of group we have here”.

We will never know, of course, I’m just giving my opinion on what would happen if Ohio State was playing either team for the National Championship.
