Swiss train attack suspect, female victim die of wounds
A 27-year-old Swiss national used flammable liquid to start a fire on a moving train in eastern Switzerland before stabbing passengers, according to police.

Police are also ruling out the possibility that the train attack was an act of terrorism or otherwise politically or religiously motivated. The wounded were taken to local hospitals, among them a child whose injuries were considered serious, police said Sunday.
Police were unable to interrogate the attacker, identified only as a Swiss citizen from a neighboring canton.
Police said on Sunday that they are searching for a possible motive for the attacks but have received no indications that the suspect, a 27-year-old man, had any ties to extremist groups.
The perpetrator of yesterday’s attack inside a passenger train in Switzerland has reportedly died of his injuries.
But Mr Kruesi said on Saturday it did not appear that the attack was directed at a single person.
Earlier on Saturday, a police spokesman told Reuters that the Swiss train attack was likely a crime of passion. In the same report, police spokesperson Hanspeter Krüsi said that no motive for the attack had been established. Six people and the attacker were wounded.
He said Swiss police were preparing to study the material retrieved on Sunday in the Liechtenstein search at the man’s home.
Police say a freight train auto that derailed in northern Iowa rolled into and damaged a trackside tavern called DeRailed. She had been drenched with a large amount the flammable liquid, leading to speculations that the 34-year-old might have been the main target of the attack.
According to the statement, the Swiss authority has not found any criminal record of the attacker.
