Sylvester Stallone: I don’t have many ‘special moments’ left
The Best Supporting Actor may have been surrounded by controversy because of the Idris Elba snub but it is set to be one of the hardest to call.

Stallone is perhaps best known for his performance as the title character in the “Rocky” franchise.
He may be one of the most popular stars of Hollywood, but actor Sylvester Stallone was once turned down as an extra in The Godfather.
This Best Supporting Actor nomination is the only nod for Creed, with many believing that it was a movie that deserved to pick up more. His first movie Rocky received 10 Oscar Nominations at the 1977 Academy awards and bagged the awards for best picture, best director and best film editing. Could 2016 be his year?
During his acceptance speech, Rylance thanked his director Steven Spielberg before adding: ‘If you ever asked if acting with Tom Hanks helps [your career] the answer is “yes it does!”‘ “I think I reveal more of myself when I pretend to be someone else”, he said. Also nominated were Christian Bale (“The Big Short”), Tom Hardy (“The Revenant”) and Mark Ruffalo (“Spotlight”).
So earlier tonight, when the award went to Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies, it was a disappointment but not a surprise to many fans who hoped Stallone would take home the trophy for his portrayal of aging boxer Rocky Balboa – a role for which he was nominated in 1977’s Rocky. Apart from Bale, all of them would be a first time Oscar victor and all of them do deserve to triumph.
Sylvester Stallone may have won the Golden Globe for his performance in “Creed”, but we do not think the same outcome should happen at the Oscars.
