Sylvester Stallone Not Involved With Rambo Series

How should the future of the Rambo franchise play out?

When news started circulating about the series, Stallone was listed as an executive producer. Now Stallones team has made a statement to Deadline indicating even the producing credit that was being mentioned by the parent company is not correct. The film spawned three sequels: 1985’s “Rambo: First Blood Part II”, 1988’s “Rambo III” and 2008’s “Rambo“. Which potentially leaves the future of Rambo: New Blood in limbo. We knew before that Fox had ordered a script for the potential project. The 69-year-old icon originally signed on as not only executive producer, but he was also set to reprise his role as the character who is hailed as setting the standard for the action hero archetype of the 1980s. All of that still seems to be aboveboard.

The series will center on the relationship between John Rambo and his son, J.R., an ex-Navy SEAL. “I wish the others well with the project”, added Stallone. Now, Stallone has announced he will “not to participate in the planned Rambo television series in any way at all”. Apparently, Stallone is fine with revisiting the past, but only for the right projects.
