A fake news story – allegedly from U.S. news site CNN – was being shared on Facebook, with fans clicking on the spam article, which then shares it on their page for their friends to see.
He captioned the picture, “With the incredibly powerful unified light heavyweight champion, Sergey “Krusher” Kovzalev ” …
The rumour even spread on Twitter, with fans alarmed at the news the 70-year-old had reportedly passed away.
“Someone confirm or deny if Sylvester Stallone is dead”.
On Friday, he also shared a cheeky selfie of him with his daughter Sophia as they enjoyed a meal together.
But it has since been rejected as twisted lies, and is the latest in a string of warped celebrity death hoaxes online.
