Syracuse Basketball: Andrew White III will reportedly transfer to SU
Fifth-year Nebraska Cornhuskers wing Andrew White III chose to transfer to Syracuse on Sunday, ending the mystery over whether he would join the Orange or his hometown VCU Rams. White shot 48.1 percent from the floor in 2015-2016, making 41.2 percent of his three-point attempts as well. White, a 6-foot-6 wing who began his college career at Kansas, told ESPN that he will play this season for coach Jim Boeheim and the Orange. He played for the Jawhawks for two years, appearing in 44 games. He averaged 16.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game as a junior and could see a boost in those numbers moving to a better squad. Supposedly, the transfer was over his lack of “preparation” for the National Basketball Association.

White is the second major grad transfer Syracuse has added this offseason, joining former Colorado State point guard John Gillon.
Not only that, but this will be White’s third collegiate team.

A top-20 recruiting class also comes to town, so you can expect the Orange to be back in the upper half of the ACC again this season – possibly competing with North Carolina, Louisville and Virginia for a spot next to Duke. The Orange made a shocking run to the Final Four previous year as a No. 10 seed and are expected to be led by sophomore power forward Tyler Lydon.
