Syracuse basketball schedule for 2016-17: ACC releases matchups

The ACC and Syracuse University released the full schedule for the upcoming men’s basketball season as the Orange look to return to the NCAA Final Four in Coach Jim Boeheim’s 41st season on the sidelines. Included in that span is road games at Syracuse, Notre Dame, Miami and Pittsburgh.

FSU basketball will host Minnesota and rival Florida while hitting the road for tournament games in Brooklyn against Temple and either West Virginia or IL. UNC and N.C. State will square off on February 15 and the Wolfpack will host Virginia on February 25. But that’s the ACC. “The Battle 4 Atlantis, Purdue and at Grand Canyon – psas the pepto bismol”.

“Our saving grace is the attitude and work ethic of this team” he noted. With the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class joining an already-talented group of returning players, Duke has nearly universally been labeled as the country’s preseason No. 1 team. “It should be a fun season”.

UM’s first exhibition game is against Barry University at the BankUnited Center on November 2. Center against Kentucky Wesleyan, followed by Bellarmine on November 7. It features 19 home games and three appearances in special early season events.

February 5, Clemson, ESPNU, 12:30 p.m.

November 18, Winthrop, ACC Extra, 7:00 p.m. Other teams in the field are LSU, Wichita State, Baylor, VCU, Michigan State and St. John’s.

November 19 – Penn, 4 p.m. The third-place game will be played on November 25 at 1 p.m. and the championship game will be played at 3:30 p.m., both on either ESPN or ESPN2.

November 11 – Western Carolina, 7 p.m. Three first round games are scheduled for March 7, four second round games on March 8, four quarterfinal games on March 9, two semifinal games on March 10, and the championship game on March 11 (Saturday) to determine the ACC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Seven of the eight participants won at least 19 games last season. Louisville hosts the Boilermakers on November 30 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Louisville will Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Ariz.in its first true road game of the year on December 3. The Billy Minardi Classic will feature Eastern Kentucky on December 17.

The Dec. 17 game against Eastern Kentucky is the 15th Annual Billy Minardi Classic, an event named in memory of Pitino’s brother-in-law who died in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

The Cardinals head coach released a statement through Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein. The conference matchups and non-conference schedules were set, but this finalizes everything. The ESPN family of networks and ACC Network will once again combine to televise every game of the event. Road trips to Syracuse on Feb. 22 (ESPN, 7 p.m. ET) and Miami on Feb. 25 (CBS, 4 p.m. ET) precede the Blue Devils’ regular season home finale against Florida State on Feb. 28 (ESPN2, 7 p.m. ET).

N.C. State opens at Miami on New Year’s Eve before hosting Virginia Tech on January 4.

The 2016 ACC Tournament is set for March 7-11 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. UofL’s 146 victories over the last five years are the fifth-most in the nation in that stretch.

The team will hold a pair of Red-White scrimmages in the KFC Yum Center. Center on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and Friday, Oct. 21, the latter of which is presented by Mark’s Feed Store.

December 28 – Columbia, 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now for the Seminoles’ impressive home slate. They may also be purchased through TicketMaster. Convenience fees are applied to Ticketmaster orders. A limited number of scrimmage tickets are available to students at no charge, and may be obtained (two per student) at the U of L ticket office with a valid student ID.
