A spokesman for the Turkish army said that another five soldiers were wounded in a rocket attack on the Turkish tanks.

Loaded with luggage and domestic items, the residents headed for the frontier and queued for customs inspection at the border gate outside the Turkish town of Karkamis, an AFP photographer said.
A senior Turkish official said three soldiers were killed and four wounded in the attack south of the border town of Al-Rai.
One Turkish soldier was killed in an August 27 rocket attack that Ankara blamed on the US-backed Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).
Meanwhile, seven villages – Qarabah Mamal, Haydar Basha, Humayrah, Umm al-Tadaya, Al-Masannah, Quba al-Dam and Al-Mustafa al-Kabir – were captured by the Free Syrian Army from ISIL terrorist group on Monday.
The area is west of Jarablus near the Turkish border which was taken from ISIL by the Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) at the start of the operation.
Two anti-Syrian government militants were also killed and another two injured in the attack.
Turkey has called its operation a success and IS fighters have been expelled from their last positions along the Turkish-Syrian border.
Turkey wants to establish a safe zone in the 91-km area stretching from Jarablus to Azaz to the west. But there had been indications of intense fighting with the Kurdish Peoples Protection Units (YPG) militia.
Turkey, a strong opponent of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, made the decision to bring its troops directly into Syria two weeks ago, as well as giving support to opposition militants there.

The YPG is a key partner of the US-led coalition against IS, and has recaptured large swathes of territory in Syria from the extremist group.
