Syria claims to shoot down two Israeli military aircraft
“In the early morning of Tuesday, the Israeli enemy’s air force attacked Syrian military positions in the countryside of the southern Quneitra province”.

Syria said it had shot down an Israeli warplane and a drone, a claim denied by Israel.
THE Israeli army said on Tuesday that its air force struck Syrian army posts in retaliation for a mortar shell that fell in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights Monday. “At no point was the safety of IDF aircraft compromised”, she explained.
“Israeli enemy warplanes late Tuesday… targeted Syrian army artillery position on the eastern foothills of Mount Hermon”, SANA reported Wednesday, citing the General Command of the Syrian Armed Forces. The Syrian government accepted the deal while the major opposition rebel groups rejected it, issuing some demands to secure their agreement.
Last week, three projectiles landed in the Israeli occupied Golan from Syria, indicating the fighting near al-Quneitra has intensified.
Tuesday’s incident was the fifth since last week in which fighting in Syria has spilled over into Israel, and the first since a fragile truce brokered by the United States and Russian Federation came into effect. During the previous year, the Syrian army fired Russian-made SA-5 surface-to-air missile at Israeli aircraft, which failed to hit its target.
Israel has for the most part refused to become involved in the conflict, only retaliating when errant strikes have crossed the border.

The row comes amid a Russia-US brokered ceasefire in Syria.
