Syria: Isis claims twin bombing that killed 44
Syria television showed huge damage in the area where the blast took place and panicking people rushing to help those trapped under the rubble. State television said that one of the blasts was a vehicle bomb and the other blast was a motorbike bomb, Reuters reported.

A double bomb attack killed at least 48 people and left dozens wounded in a Kurdish-majority city in northeast Syria on Wednesday.
The first was caused by a truck loaded with explosives that was driven at a centre run by the Kurdish police force.
The attack on Qamishli could be a reply to the US-backed Kurdish militia attacking Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) in northern Syria, now staging an offensive to capture the IS-held town of Manbij, situated further to the east of Qamishli.
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least one of the explosions hit near a building belonging to the Kurdish administration that controls most of Hasaka province, in which Qamishli is located.
The militant group previously conducted bombings in Qamishli and Hasaka city, media sources reported. Government forces and allied troops have tightened the noose on the main rebel enclave in the city of Aleppo, urging fighters there to surrender. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for both explosions, Al Jazeera reported.
Few moments later, the attack was followed by a blast from an explosives-packed motorcycle in the same area.
Meanwhile, local hospitals are asking for blood donations of any type.
One explosion was so powerful it shattered the windows of shops in the Turkish town of Nusaybin, directly across the border. In April, a suicide blast killed six members of the Kurdish internal security forces.
In May, Kurdish-led Syrian forces, backed by USA -led airstrikes, started a major attack to dislodge Islamic State from Minbij and have since gained ground against the radical group.

Wednesday’s explosion came as USA -backed Kurdish forces pressed ahead with their offensive to take the IS-held town of Manbij, also in northern Syria but further to the east of Qamishli.
