The government has been seeking to conclude local agreements with rebels in besieged areas to give them safe passage to the insurgent stronghold of Idlib in northwestern Syria.

It said the trucks had made a routine aid delivery organized by an global organization to an area west of Aleppo city, and had been hit near the town of Urm al-Kubra. Aid delivery to Aleppo is part of the U.S. -Russia cease-fire deal. “A total of four regime helicopters targeted it with 8 barrel bombs”.

Another 78,000 people living in and around Greater Orum in the north of Aleppo province would also receive flour and health supplies, Swanson said.

Seven days after the agreement was reached by Russian Federation, which backs Syrian President Bashar Assad, and the US, which backs anti-Assad rebels, the regime blamed the truce’s collapse on the rebels, and unilaterally declared that the cease-fire is over.

Last week, the United States was forced to apologize after it weakened the ceasefire by bombing Syrian troops, but Washington said it had been accidental.

“The army blocked a huge attack by the Faylaq al-Sham group and is beginning a major military operation on the edges of the capital”, a military source said.

The cease-fire was violated repeatedly and convoys of aid have not been able to reach the war-torn rebel-held neighborhoods.

Syria’s regime forces announced an end to the week-long ceasefire brokered by the United States and Russian Federation, blaming militants for the failure of the truce.

Speaking Monday on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, Kerry said some humanitarian assistance is moving but it’s too soon to say if it will meet the requirements of the cease-fire deal.

After months of negotiations, the United States and Russian Federation agreed on September 9 to call for a ceasefire, the delivery of aid and the joint targeting of Islamist rebels in Syria.

Assad called the raid on his forces a “flagrant aggression” that proved the USA and forces fighting against his regime were “increasing support for terrorists”, the state-run new agency SANA reported Monday. But it is only one of several theories being examined as investigators try to find out why the strikes, which killed at least 62 people and injured 100 more, went awry.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Jaberi Ansari in Damascus.

The sides that are hostile to Syria are depleting all their energies and resources to maintain the terrorist war on Syria, he added. The Pentagon said the strike was accidental and U.S. officials expressed regret, but Russian Federation and Syria raised the possibility that the United States was acting in support of ISIS.

British forces were also involved in the strike, the Ministry of Defence confirmed.

Russia’s military reiterated Syrian army and said the cease-fire was “meaningless” after accusing the United States of lacking power over the moderate Syrian opposition forces it supports. He claimed on Monday that the Syrian government forces have observed the truce unilaterally, despite the continuing rebel violations.

The Syrian military said its seven-day “regime of calm” had expired and did not say if it would be renewed.

It added that groups “did not commit to a single element” of the deal.

“Clearly one of the factors that might be at play here is whether the forces were easily identifiable as Syrian government forces”.

“The UK would not intentionally target Syrian military units”. But the airstrikes may have actually hit prisoners forced to put on the uniform, USA officials tell The Daily Beast.

The attack came just hours after the government there declared a ceasefire was over. Such deliveries began only on Monday and were available only in limited areas, he said.

Russian Federation – president Bashar Assad’s main foreign backer – said it had been told by the Syrian government that 62 of its troops had been killed in the strike.

The Prime Minister said the United Kingdom would co-operate with the investigation by the US-led coalition into the attack on Saturday near the eastern city of Deir el-Zour.

Uncertainties are prevailing about the truce, which is now in its seventh day.

Officials said the strikes killed more than 60 soldiers.

Kerry said on Monday that there had finally been some progress with aid.

“As I speak to you, the brothers were trying to put out the flames, and we were subjected to four more raids.in exactly the same place”, said the activist, giving his name as Abu Shahoud. And in eastern Aleppo, a resident reached by Reuters said there had been dozens of blasts.

Also Sunday, the Syrian government and opposition reported violations of the cease-fire.

The U.S. says it’s prepared to extend Syria truce despite violations and Syrian announcement it is over.

Moscow appeared to bury hopes that the truce would last, however.
