Syrian Democratic Forces kill over 100 ISIS jihadis in fresh offensive
The Observatory said at least 104 civilians have died from air strikes since the start of the Manbij offensive in late May.

Only after the strike did the USA -led coalition receive reports from sources indicating there may have been civilians in the area.
USA -backed fighters on July 21 gave the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) 48 hours to leave the battleground Syrian town of Manbij, after US -led air strikes nearby reportedly killed dozens of civilians.
According to The Daily Mail, airstrikes took out five terrorist targets at once, plus one moving vehicle near Manbij, Syria.
A statement by the group called it a last-ditch effort to protect civilian lives and the “only and last” opportunity for ISIS militants to “leave the town alive”.
Residents in the area blamed the USA -led coalition for the strikes that targeted two villages, Tokhar and Hoshariyeh, which are controlled by the Islamic State, activists said. The destruction of these ISIL assets disrupts the terrorist group’s operations and makes them vulnerable in Manbij and on the Mar’a line, the release said.
On Thursday, Reuters cited the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) as urging the coalition to temporarily stop the aerial campaign in Syria while an investigation is completed into recent coalition attacks that killed 140 civilians in and near the northern Syrian city of Manbij.
The SDF, an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters backed by the United States, launched an offensive against ISIL to retake Manbij late last month. SOHR has said thatUS-led coalition planes likely mistook the civilians for members of terror group ISIL, although that has not been confirmed.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Manbij area is the last large tract of land along Syria’s northern border with Turkey under ISIS control, reports CNN.
A spokesman for the USA -led alliance said there were “multiple national aircraft providing strikes in Manbij”.
“In the past six weeks, and as violence has intensified, over 2,300 people were reportedly killed in the area, among them dozens of children”.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the coalition’s allies on the ground, said in a statement that they had provided intelligence for airstrikes on Tokkhar.

“Entire families were killed in the attack”, the source said, adding that the airstrikes had also left at least 100 people injured.
