Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting a number of opposition groups and radicals from organisations like the Islamic State and the Nusra Front.

During this time about 20 aircraft carried out 10-15 combat sorties a day, according to the army.
The participants agreed on respecting Syria’s national unity and sovereignty as well as eradicating the terrorist groups operating in the Arab country.
Russian Federation started airstrikes in Syria on September 30, in support of forces loyal to the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Lawmakers also renewed their questions about the USA decision not to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons to counter Russian-backed separatists in the face of what Republican Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama called overwhelming congressional support. The more advanced Russian warplanes pack a far more powerful and accurate punch and have better observation capabilities than Assad’s air force.
Another local commander, Murhaf Anjeer from the small Al-Arbaeen Battalion, said the Russian strikes were “wearing out” his fighters, leaving them constantly on edge that they are about to be hit from the air.
Syrian officials say fighting is still ongoing outside of the town, but the reports are that dozens of casualties were inflicted on the military forces guarding the town in a sudden offensive.
“The major offensives are only in their infancy”, said the official, who requested anonymity in order to discuss the issue.
“So there should be not a shade of doubt that NCSROF members find it acceptable to come to the negotiating table with the Syrian government delegation”, Ignatenko said.
The attacking forces included 2,500 Iranian and Afghani fighters, and Syrian troops, said Abu Ahmed, the 36-year-old fighter, talking to Reuters from southern Aleppo.
Syrian insurgents on Thursday took over Morek, a key city that’s crucial to control western Syria, in a battle with pro-government militia.
Morek is vitally important for both rebels and regime forces, he adds, as it “is considered the entrance to the northern Hama countryside and the southern Idlib countryside”.
Jund al-Aqsa boasted of victory on its Twitter account, but a Syrian security source denied any major setback. Jihadist group “Jund al-Aqsa and opposition groups have seized full control of the town of Morek after a fierce offensive”, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. “We can not say the regime is going forward, no way”, said Abdulrahman, who tracks the conflict using sources on the ground.
Amir Abdollahian briefed Bogdanov on his recent discussions with Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, saying that Damascus stresses the necessity for serious fight against terrorism and supports efforts to resolve the country’s crisis through a political process based on popular vote and without any foreign interference.

Last week, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Moscow was in favor of the Free Syrian Army’s participation in the Syrian reconciliation talks.
