System Shock Remastered Kickstarter Campaign Starts Next Month

A remastered version of System Shock will be the subject of a Kickstarter campaign that will begin next month. The studio promises to stay true to the spirit of the original, but naturally there will be a few tweaks to the UI and control scheme as they look to modernise the experience.

Night Dive Studios, a company famous for acquiring rights to old school classics of the 90s, announced the news on its Facebook page.

There is now some pre-alpha gameplay footage floating around, showing off the game with its new Unity Engine visuals. System Shock: Remastered will be coming to Kickstarter this June, so gamers who want to see this beloved PC game get remade will be able to donate their money to make it happen. Both Bioshock and System Shock have always had a decent mix of horror and shooting. They had previously announced that they were working on a complete re-master of the original System Shock and that they may eventually seek alternative funding support to bring the project to life.

Night Dive Studios has provided an update on System Shock Remastered, its anticipated remake of the 1994 Looking Glass classic.

Also, there is a brand new System Shock 3 that is being developed by OtherSide Entertainment and published by NightDive Studios.
