Taco Bell Adds Booze to the Menu
The new concept, dubbed “Taco Bell Cantina” – a slightly nicer version of your typical Taco Bell – urges patrons to eat in, thanks to a new menu offering alcoholic libations.

The plans for the Chicago location have been introduced earlier this summer time, though a precise opening date and different particulars weren’t disclosed on the time.
It did not say how many new or remodeled restaurants would become Taco Bell Cantinas.
The new urban design units will also have more open kitchens to show off ingredients, an idea borrowed from global locations where Mexican food is less familiar. The San Francisco restaurant, which is located near AT&T Park (home to Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants), features a patio and a mobile pick-up window.
This move by Taco Bell arrives as restaurant chains in the US experiment with many new methods to increase sales and to lure in customers.
The first Taco Bell Cantina is set to open in Chicago next week, with the second debuting in San Francisco later this month.
Actually, the boozy freezes are brand new anywhere, and the “shareables” section is new for any Taco Bell. With the average Taco Bell tab in the $7 range, the company has utilized drive-throughs and fast service to attract the quantity of customers needed to turn a profit. On the menu: wine, beer, sangria, “twisted freezes”-margarita-like frozen blends spiked with rum, tequila, or vodka-and tapas-style group appetizers”.
“You will literally be able to see the food” before it’s prepared, said Meredith Sandland, Taco Bell’s chief development officer. The majority sell alcohol have beer along with margaritas while others only are serving beer. The restaurant will open on Tuesday, September 22.
The artist, whose real name is Won Kim, said he initially was apprehensive about doing work for the giant fast-food chain, but was pleasantly surprised when they told him they didn’t want his piece to include any overt reference to their brand.
