Taco Bell Unveils the Quesalupa With Help From James Harden and Neymar
It looks like Taco Bell’s Super Bowl 50 ad this evening will unveil the Quesalupa. Back then, the rumored product was said to be, “basically a cross between a quesadilla and Taco Bell’s signature Chalupa”, featuring “melted pepper jack cheese stuffed inside of a flaky, crispy shell…seasoned ground beef, lettuce, cheddar cheese, reduced-fat sour cream, and tomatoes”. “The energy and excitement surrounding our pre-order and today’s reveal is just the beginning for us – stay tuned in the coming days and weeks for more!”

In a prime slot at the start of the break, WCCO aired a Taco Bell commercial with Minneapolis’ “best looking man in comedy” Fancy Ray McCloney that was inspired by – and doubled as – a promotion for Minneapolis’ beloved indie LP shop Treehouse Records. He forgot to mention the nearest Taco Bell to his Lyndale Av. and 26th St. store. To be clear, good is a relative term here; the quesalupa is not going to convert anyone who is grossed out by fast food, but I think that goes without saying. It feels and tastes very much like a chalupa, but the soft shell with the gooey cheese inside is basically everything I could possibly want in a Taco Bell meal. Influencers were able to invite their followers to tune into Taco Bell’s Snapchat for an uncensored, real-time celebration with Feed the Beat artist performances.
