Talks between Iran, Turkey can contribute to regional stability: Davutoglu
“Iran and Turkey might have different opinions on certain cases, but the history of the two countries would never change, and the two neighbors’ geographies complement each other”, Davutoglu said in a joint press conference with Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri here in Tehran.

“Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will discuss the supply of Iranian gas to Europe via TANAP”, said the Turkish media.
On the issue of transportation, he said, Iran is Turkey’s gateway to Arab countries and Turkey is Iran’s gateway to the European countries, adding, Iran is an energy producer and Turkey is the largest energy consumer; Turkey is the sixth largest tourism spot and Iran is an undiscovered reservoir for the world.
“It is extremely important for Turkey and Iran to develop some common perspectives in order to end our region’s fight among brothers, to stop the ethnic and sectarian conflicts”.
Davutoglu is in Iran to hold talks with the country’s senior officials on various issues, including ways to deepen bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
The easing of Western sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program means the two neighbors can easily exceed their previous trade target of $30 billion annually, Davutoglu also said in comments broadcast live by Turkey’s NTV news channel.
“The main obstacle that prevented us from reaching our goal were the sanctions”.
Turkey mainly sells machinery, vehicles and iron and steel products to Iran.

“The integration of Iran in the global market offers new opportunities, more than all to Turkey, which has a big production capacity”, he added.
