TalkTalk cyber attack: Fifth man arrested
Police from London’s Metropolitan Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit teamed up with their accented friends at the Southern Wales Regional Organised Crime Unit to search a house in Llanelli, with the teenager finding himself arrested not for the actual hacking part of the crime, but on “suspicion of blackmail”.

A 15-year-old boy from County Antrim, two 16-year-old boys from Feltham and Norwich and a 20-year-old man from Staffordshire have also been arrested over the hack.
The company recently announced that 156,959 of their customers personal details were accessed, of these 15,656 bank account number and sort codes were accessed.
The breach in October was the third in a series of cyber attacks that have affected TalkTalk customers.
All four were held on suspicion of Computer Misuse Act offenses, and all four have been bailed while the investigation continues.
In an update to customers on November 6, TalkTalk said the scale of the attack was much more limited than initially suspected, with four per cent of its subscribers having any sensitive data at risk.
In a statement, Metropolitan Police said the investigation was ongoing.
It is being carried out by the Met’s cyber crime unit, the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s cyber crime centre and the National Crime Agency.

Detectives say they are investigating a ransom demand sent to the phone and broadband provider by someone claiming to be responsible for the hack and seeking payment.
